About
The Stage Bus is run by a friendly team of sound and lighting engineers based in
South Birmingham providing outdoor stages and equipment for festivals and events. A close knit friendly bunch with a good mix of skills and experiences that met back at University and have worked together ever since. The company was set up in 2006 by Andrew Teverson who designed and built The Stage Bus, and since then has gone from strength to strength. Our mission is to use innovation to make
mobile stages /
fast deploy stages cheaper funner, and even more quirky. We now have a 2nd ,
stage built onto a Bedford MJ Truck and we can provide everything from
marquees to
silent discos and more!
Andrew Teverson – Director
Andrew grew up in Essex and got involved with
sound and lighting at the age of 14, around the same time as learning to fix almost anything in existence. He always wanted to own a double decker bus having worked on the church bus with his dad as a child, and in 2006 this became reality. While at uni Andrew designed
The Stage Bus for his dissertation, and after graduating, bought a MCW metro bus and got stuck in. Since then he has designed and built a new stage -
The Truck Stage and there are plenty more projects in the pipeline so watch this space. Andrew loves vintage vehicles and we are pretty sure that the business is just an excuse to own some really cool toys to drive around. Andrew is our resident Bus and Lorry Driver and is not only an experienced sound/lighting engineer, but is a superb project manager and runs the Stage Bus team on site at an event.
Tom Hyland – Communications Manager
Tom has always been a keen musician and trained as sound engineer at Applestone Studios in Torquay where he grew up. Tom has been involved with live music and
events for the past ten years, playing in various bands, promoting nights and organising
festivals Tom looked after ents/production at the Vale festival for three years – The UKs largest student led event of its kind.
He has a strong background in event tech and worked as a freelance sound engineer on
The Stage Bus before joining the team full time in February 2010. As well as being a regular behind the sound desk, Tom is responsible for our marketing /commercial operations, and looks after our bookings and enquiries. He is a very smiley chap, speaks fluent French and loves meeting new people.
Bridge Williams – Technical Manager
Bridge came from touring with the BBC to
The Stage Bus team in 2011. Whilst at the Beeb, he managed a
touring, educational vehicle which gave him the bug for being on the road. His background began in audio and education, having worked at Western Star Recording Studios, Access To Music college, Brighton Dome and many freelance youth music projects. Bridge is responsible for our vast array of equipment, and -like Andrew- is the resident driver which now allows both The Stage Bus and The Truck Stage to be out simultaneously. Outside of work he plays in a band, motorcycles and has recently become a qualified skydiver.
